If there is one thing that's sure about Dubai's summers it's that they will be hot. The city's sportsmen and women need a venue to work off their work-a-day energy and give outlet to their competitive spirit; and no better place than on the world class Yonex badminton courts at the World Trade Centre's Dubai Sports World.

At this annual sporting extravaganza, badminton has an increasingly prominent role, doubling the number of courts available for shuttlers from six in 2014 to twelve in 2017 and 2018 and with plans to continue the sport's growth in future years.

And it's not just enthusiastic players taking advantage of the courts. This year alone, the badminton facility at Dubai Sports World - hosted for the fifth year by Shuttle Time Dubai - has seen multiple activities taking place both on the courts and in the classroom, raising the standard of badminton coaching and technical officials as the UAE continues to cement its position as a centre of badminton excellence in this region.

Dubai Sports World 2018 saw:

  • 33 BWF level 1 coaches trained
  • 25 National Umpires trained
  • 18 National Referees trained
  • 200 players from 19 clubs participating in the Shuttle Time Dubai Club Championship 2018, running over 6 weeks.
  • 3 Academies providing coaching for hundreds of kids
  • 12 international standard Badminton courts provided over 22,000 playing hours over 115 days, more than any another year.

The action doesn't stop just because Dubai Sports World has closed its doors for 2018. Follow Badminton Shuttle Time Dubai to stay ahead of all badminton action in the UAE and beyond!"
