Special Olympics is the world’s largest humanitarian sporting event and a global movement which focuses on the empowerment of People of Determination with intellectual disabilities through the power of sport.
The event is under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose leadership and vision have been instrumental in bringing together public and private sector partners to be a part of this worthy cause. Badminton Games at the Special Olympics World Games is under the auspices of UAE Badminton, in coordination with Technical Delegates and the Special Olympics Local Organizing Committee in Abu Dhabi. As the National Federation Governing the Sport of Badminton in the UAE, we are involved in the SO activities from an early stage. From the venue plans to the scheduling of matches and the conduct of the event, the UAE Badminton team spearheads all aspects of the sport of Badminton at this massive multisport event.
We welcome all Technical Officials and Volunteers (Umpires, Line Judges, and Marshals) under UAE Badminton to come forward for a worthy cause and to gain an experience you will cherish forever.
